Cairo International Model United Nations Conference.

Students gather at the annual conference of the Cairo International Model United Nations (CIMUN) to discuss and challenge the policy decisions and resolutions that determine today’s world. Founded in 1988 to simulate the United Nations security council, today CIMUN is one of the largest Model United Nations programmes outside north America. The aim of the initiative is to educate participants about civics, effective communication, globalization and multilateral diplomacy through role playing and the simulation of key United Nations organs such as the general assembly, the human rights council and the international court of justice. The first is “Reflections: Another Look” presenting the pick of work by 17 photographers shown at the Photographic Gallery (formerly known as the Sony Gallery) from 1993 to the present (until 5 March). The second is a display of items from the private collection of Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohamed Al-Qassimi, member of the Supreme Council and ruler of Sharjah, to mark the opening of the Sharjah Art Gallery on AUC’s New Cairo campus. more
