Tourism: Saudi BinLaden Group gets Cairo airport hotel contract
Wednesday, January 20th 2010The Saudi Arabia-based BinLaden group has won the contract to build a new 330-room five-star hotel at Cairo International Airport. Egypt’s Civil Aviation Ministry said that the cost for the new complex is expected to be LE 500 million. Adjacent to the hotel 2.8 million square metres of land is to be developed into a theme park, shopping malls and cinemas at a total cost of LE950 million. Ibrahim Manaa, president of the nationalised Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation also announced that a new runway and 1.8 kilometer monorail transport system would be built at the airport.
